Sustainable Speech Therapy Resources
At Little Orchard HQ we care about the footprints we leave and the impact we have on our environment. As a family of five, we have made lots of changes to the way we live and buy. We are slowly but surely trying our very best to reduce the amount of plastic we buy and the waste we produce.
Honestly, we are far from perfect but we believe that every little step makes a difference.

When we shop online we always go straight to the bit that explains how the brand is sustainable - so we thought it was only right that you should also be able to find out what makes Little Orchard Children’s products sustainable…
THE PAPER
We use 100% recycled paper. All our paper is FCS certified and is printed on with plant based toners.
We like the way Recycled and Kraft paper looks and feels - each card has very slight colour differences and is dusted with pretty flecks - which again we love!
Recycled and Kraft card is used for the resource cards themselves, a product sleeve when used and for the thank you note. We also use natural recycled tissue paper to protect your resources in the post.
All of the paper we use is recyclable and home compostable.
THE STORAGE BAGS & TINS
This has definitely been one of the more challenging materials for us to research and source. It’s really important to us that we know that the storage bags and tins are well made so they will last the test of time but also that they are made kindly and responsibly.
That’s why the storage bags we use are 100% organic, unbleached cotton and GOTS certified (License number CU 1037992) and the storage tins are made from metal which can be used over and over again.
THE GREEN STAMP
Did you know that I hand stamp all of the bags?
Little Orchard stamps are made with sustainable oak handles and natural eco rubber. The company that we use - “Get Stamped” - plant a tree for every custom stamp they make. The ink we use is water based and used together with re-inkers, so that we never have to throw the plastic ink pad castings away.
THE PACKAGING
All our parcel boxes are made from 100% biodegradable cardboard. We also try to re-use some of the boxes we receive through the post so that they don’t go to waste. We also try to use the smallest box possible.
We seal all of our packages with packaging tape which is made from Kraft paper. These are 100% biodegradable and compostable.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
As a family we are on a journey to reduce our waste as much as possible. This is also at the forefront of my mind when creating our resources. What little waste is left over is either reused where possible, home composted or recycled.
IN A NUTSHELL…
We make activity kits to empower parent and practitioners to get started with supporting children’s speech language and communication skills whilst minimsing the impact on the environment.
No plastic.
